比较通用的是用meal,let's go out to have a meal,一般没那么正式的晚餐老外叫 supper。

语法方面一般来说都会用 have dinner, having dinner, go out for dinner, preparing dinner (不会用make dinner,做菜也能用这个表达),dinner is ready, why don't we have dinner at home.

如:will you join us for dinner?

如:the dinner was badly cooked.

如:the dinner smells good.

they ordered two hot dinners.
